GREENWICH, CT January 22, 2007 — Littlejohn & Co., LLC, a private investment firm that applies an operational approach to building middle-market companies, today announced the promotion of David Simon as a Managing Director. His appointment brings to seven the number of Managing Directors at this firm of 17 professionals.

Mr. Simon joined Littlejohn in 2001 and was named a Principal in 2006. He has been responsible for acquisitions, divestitures and oversight of portfolio companies. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Simon was at Fenway Partners, where he evaluated, structured, and monitored private equity investments. Prior to that, he was in the Financial Entrepreneurs Group of Smith Barney Inc. where he advised private equity firms and their portfolio companies in a variety of industries. Mr. Simon received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, with honors and a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Finance from The Wharton School, magna cum laude.
Littlejohn’s recent transactions include the September 2006 acquisition of Stolle Machinery Company, the leading global provider of machinery, tooling, spare parts and services to the beverage and food can-manufacturing industry and the sale of Eliokem, a leading international specialty chemicals concern purchased from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.
